An artistic initiative dedicated to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

17 artists, 17 murals, 17 Portuguese sponsors, including TPF Consultores
Each mural representing one of the 17 SDGs

The Zambujal 360 project goes far beyond art: it transforms lives. Located in the municipality of Amadora, Lisbon 🇵🇹, it aims to make the Bairro do Zambujal the first social neighbourhood ambassador of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

TPF Consultores is proud to have sponsored the mural dedicated to SDG 15: Life on Land, inaugurated on September 16 in the presence of:

  • Thomas Spitaels, Executive Chairman of TPF
  • The Executive Committee and deputies of TPF Consultores: Carlos Baião, Carla Cascais, Gonçalo Tavares, Luís Sá, Filipe Sousa, and Miguel Conceição
  • Mário Linhares, President of AdGentes and founder of Zambujal 360
  • Vítor Monteiro, local resident and President of Associação CAZA

The mural was created by Jacqueline de Montaigne, an internationally renowned Anglo-Portuguese painter and muralist, recognized for her deep connection to nature and the delicate symbolism of her ecosystems.

Symbolism and identity

The central element of the mural is the wild olive tree (“Zambujeiro” – Olea europaea sylvestris), symbolizing:

  • Peace, hope, resilience, and renewal
  • Friendship, victory, prosperity, healing, and wisdom

This symbol reflects the identity and history of the Zambujal families: a resilient community able to overcome challenges and reinvent itself.
For the artist, it also evokes childhood memories in Portugal, adding a personal dimension to the work.

Aesthetic and message

The mural depicts a human profile formed by olive branches, painted in green tones on a blue-gray background. Silver leaf details catch the light, creating a subtle shimmer by day and a striking effect by night.

Beyond its beauty, the mural highlights SDG 15, emphasizing the olive tree’s role in:

  • Protecting biodiversity
  • Capturing carbon
  • Conserving soils
  • Restoring habitats
